PoTW: Dayo Adegbola

Name : Dayo Adegbola
Location: New Jersey, USA

Experience about Mcss : Mcss Reunion has been a wonderful time and great opportunity to gather and see old colleagues again . Even though I have not been physically attend any of the gathering but I can feel it anywhere any day anytime . Not taking the group for granted and I want to use this medium to appreciate the Exco both previous and present and everyone on the group that has made this a memorable and reality.

Indeed this is a wonderful initiatives .

Experience in Mcss : My life and story won’t be complete without Mcss and most of us are between the age of 9 / 10 to 18 / 20 years old  and that age was developemental age for young teens and Teenagers and so many things we learnt during these stages sticked with us till date .

I was born into the family of prince Ademola Adegbola ( Aremo Oripaka obokun of ijesha osun state ) my dad is an educationist and my mum runs a bakery business/ fashion designer ( both deceased)

I have 2 younger siblings .

My Primary school : Jona Ideal nursery school now Real Cornerstone academy at Ketu mile 12 .

Secondary school : Mcss

Then proceed to Yabatech to study National Diploma in Accounting then later to university of Lagos for a bachelor degree in business administration.

Then masters in international law and diplomacy (MILD ) university of Lagos .

Project management in University of Maryland Baltimore USA

I love soccer a lot I was thinking to be a sport administrator or sport analyst sometimes in the future .
But you life doesn’t goes as planned sometimes.

Pal in JSS : Raji Adewale, Awobade Ibukun, Seun Obajuluwa, Ayodele Folawewo( Koeman ) Ajobo Babatunde , Abayomi Oyerinde, Seye Akinwunmi, Odia John , Hammed Shittu , Anozie Nwuzi ( came in from PH ) Sunday Adesanya and Opeyemi Bella … but out our classes I have a good family friend in Shoga and Obinna .

Then Outside the classroom I can forget Kosin Tega , Leonard Ibe , Robert Udewnor , Chinedu , Theopilus and Razack ( Goalie ) Dipo and Olaopa , Peter and Paul , Okwudiri , Sheriff , Lawrence Muhumba, Ikechukwu Igbokwe, Adaobi Okoro etc .

I was a little close Femi Soile Aka Mr Gomez and Emeka Nwakwo , Shatoke due to some development back then . I can explain that briefly

Our JSS classes were A to H

The A to F were using the building by the extreme end of the school I think the building was a former hostel or something while G and H were using the intro tech class .

If you remember the intro tech class building was occupied for registration of new students by Mrs Ajoje and Mrs Olaopa back then and the registration was on going till the end of first term . So if you recollect most of the students from G and H were merge with other classes (A to F ) till the end of first term and that’s why I found myself sitting with Gomez , Tayo minero and Emeka  with few others in class JSS  1B back then .

By 2nd term we were all back to our original class .

We didn’t have 1st term exams in JSS 1 if you remember very well.

Then in JSS 3 the formula was changed to home economics ( A to D ) intro Tech ( E to H )

I was in the D class with Pascal Ugwanali , Deji Dario , Owolabi, Tayo Ogunleye , Adenike Bello , Sebiotimo , Sesan and Olawale Abbey with many pretty ladies hahaha 😂😂😂

Then as we proceed to the SS classes:

K & L  science class
M & N Art
O to Q or S can’t remember the last aphabet was commercial .

Then is SS classes was Olukosi Lookmon, Sote , Shakur, Linus and amongst the name I mentioned from JSS .

Memorable in Mcss: what I can remember now was the golden jubilee  celebration and our inter house sport .

The inter house sport week was always a free lecture and the school gates are open 24/ 7 for movements .

I was in blue house and I remember wearing that inter house T-shirt under the school uniform for a long time .

For some reason the inter house sport was no more during our SS classes then I think we were more focus on studies and possibly principal cups .

I have both positive and negative memorable moment in Mcss : I lost my mum in JSS 2 and that same week one of our food and nutrition teacher died too I think she also had a baby but didn’t make it .

I can’t forget Raji , Abayomi, Ibk , Seun and Ayodele those guys stood behind me as young we were even helping to class assignments etc . Anytime I remember my mum ,  my sympathizers I remember them too 😂 LOL. Thank you guys once more .

That’s why till date I encourage people to use their platform to support the young people because most of them are going through mid life crisis . My mum death affected my education and motivation I lost my mojo for a very long time but it’s all good we live to learn and we thank God for life.

Experience: I also enjoy skipping school to Mende for video game at Nippo head Game Center .

Positive : The day I signed out of the school 😂 I was just too eager for the actions in the outside world .

What do I do and professions :

I presently work as a software developer in one of the leading tech firm in New York City .

My personal hero is my former boss and my principal His Excellency Professor Yemi Osibajo GCON and Dapo Akinosun SAN  both instrumental to my development and life .

In the next 5 years I see myself making more impact at the global scenes specifically in politics and public policies With the Focus on nations building.

My wifey is the my bestie ✅
I am the cool and friendly and she’s the strict and actions so we balance very well ✅

If I could change the world : To encourage and appreciates diversity and advocating for more women in public offices and above all make education compulsory for 18years old below .

For Nigeria : we are too over dependent on certificate and we over celebrate it . so I want to encourage the government to invest more in skilled and artisan opportunities.

Alumi : We thank the former exco for the initiatives and the new exco for bringing innovation to the table and leading us into  a new direction of progress .

I want to encourage everyone to continue with the love and togetherness .

Advise to the exco : let’s create more enabling environment to encourage everyone fully participating .
